Tanya Bogdanova

New Zealand jewellery artist, Tanya Bogdanova grew up in Bulgaria and now lives in Auckland. She graduated from art school in 2010 and has been making jewellery ever since.

Tanya uses silver, copper, brass, and glass in her work and she loves to explore patinas and different ways of colouring metals.

I find the most amazing thing about colours is how they sidestep the mind and bring up pure emotion.

The biggest source of inspiration in Tanya’s life and work is nature – as a religion, as a huge living intelligent organism, to which all of us belong.

I am fascinated by people, stories, fairy tales, legends and traditions and I believe that in every situation, place or person there is a treasure hidden, just waiting to be discovered.
