"This piece was made as the initial Covid virus hit the USA when there was no vaccine available and families were unable to visit dying relatives lest they caught the virus as well.
It was also when George Floyd died and the protests began about Black Lives Matter.
I looked at all the wounds and scarring of the heart both physically and metaphorically. I incorporated small figures leading their damaged daily lives using the heart as the backdrop."
